Player’s guide

A grid of letters with a word list hiding inside it — find every word to finish. Everyone gets the same themed, timed Daily challenge at midnight UTC. Want a puzzle of your own? Generate one from any word list to play or print.

  1. 1

    Find and drag

Press on a word’s first letter and drag to its last — starting from either end works. A found word stays highlighted in the grid and is crossed off the list, so the board slowly maps itself as you go.
  2. 2

    Learn the four directions

Words read forwards only: across to the right, straight down, or along a diagonal — falling or rising to the right. Nothing is ever spelled backwards, so a promising run that only works right-to-left is a red herring. (In the generator, you can switch diagonals off entirely.)

WORD, tucked along the falling diagonal. The green directions are the only four that occur — the grey ones never do.

  3. 3

    Race the daily clock

The daily timer starts when you press Play and pauses whenever you leave the tab. Today’s theme is your biggest hint — expect its vocabulary. Find the last word and your time lines up against today’s best.
  4. 4

    Make it yours

In the puzzle generator, type a word list — or let AI Suggest draft one for any topic and language — and build a puzzle to play on screen. Export PDF produces a clean printable with an answer key, and Show Answer bails you out when a word refuses to appear.
Tip: Hunt each word by its rarest feature, not its first letter — a Q, an X or a double letter is far easier to pick out of the noise. Scan the grid in rows, then in columns; your eyes catch different words each way.
